E-Learning Centre FAQ's
The following FAQs are particular to the E-Learning Centre and are primarily concerned with the ISSOW Awareness and ISSOW Level 1 courses. They serve to offer all Integrated Safe System of Work (ISSOW) booking contacts guidelines on how to process an ISSOW booking.
For queries regarding classroom based courses that are not answered below, please contact the training centre.
Q: How do I make a booking for the E-learning Centre?
A: Each ISSOW booking request should be sent to the training administration team. To ensure you provide all the required information, we ask that you use an ISSOW booking spreadsheet which is a standardised format and can be emailed to you on request. The spreadsheet requires you to provide specific delegate and company details. Please note that as a minimum requirement we require the delegates full name, date of birth, vantage number and installation that they are working on. Upon receipt and process of your ISSOW booking request, you will be emailed joining instructions.
Note: E-Learning ISSOW training request(s) for the following day should be sent no later than 12.00 pm prior to the day of training.

Q: What are the basic PC literacy skills?
A: Basic PC Skills include:
- Be capable of entering text, numbers and spaces using the keyboard (speed is not an issue)
- Be able to log in using a Username and Password
- Understand how to use desktop icons to launch applications
- Understand the terms mouse, mouse click, screen, cursor, keyboard and menu in the IT sense
- Be able to use the left mouse button to select an object on the screen
- Be familiar with Tool Bars and know how to select a menu choice
- Understand use of Scroll bars.
- Be able to use the drag and drop function
- Be able to navigate between multiple programs
- Be familiar with the minimise, maximise and close buttons on a web page
- Be able to use drop down menus
Q: How will I be assessed?
A: The assessment process is a combination of the delegate's own ability to complete the question sets pertaining to the ISSOW system and their practical skills when using Sentinel PRO.
For all ISSOW training courses there is a pre-defined pass mark which must be met - or greater - to successfully complete the course.
Q: What are the course times and availability?
A: E-Learning ISSOW Level 1 courses are run twice daily; morning and afternoon - start times vary and are dependant on the client; please contact the Training Centre should you require a factsheet for client specific information.
ISSOW Awareness courses run as per the below:
- Every hour on the hour commencing 9.00 am, last session 3.00 pm
Please note that delegates must arrive on or before the stated start time. Late arrivals may be asked to re-book and attend an alternative course / date & time.
Q: Will there be training facilitators to hand?
A: At all times, delegates have the opportunity to seek assistance or advice throughout training from one of our qualified training facilitators. This additional feature ensures all delegate needs are met ensuring all queries regarding the operation of the ISSOW system are responded to on the day of training.
The training facilitators will meet all delegates on arrival and are on hand to offer advice throughout each course.
Q: Do I have to bring my own course material?
A: Full course materials are provided for all delegates.
Q: What refreshment facilities do you have on site?
A: There is a lounge area for delegates, that includes facilities for hot and cold drinks. Lunch is only provided for delegates that attend a full day tutor led training course.

Q: Is there car parking?
A: There is currently no delegate parking available at this site.
Q: What are the cancellation fees?
A: Cancellation fees are dependant on the notice supplied prior to the schedule course start tine. Please contact the training Centre for further clarification.
