Petrotechnics School Football Challenge

Kirkhill Primary School, their Business Education Partners Petrotechnics and Active Schools have organised a festive football match to encourage the pupils to keep active over the Christmas period.

Members of the school football team will be joining forces with staff from Aberdeen-based Petrotechnics to play in a 7-a-side match at Kincorth Sports Centre on Tuesday 18th December. Phil Murray, Petrotechnics CEO, will be leading the team on Tuesday and will also be accompanying Santa for a visit to the P1-2s Christmas parties during that week. He commented: "our place in the community is an important aspect of our business and providing activities like these for the school is an ideal way to give something back, particularly at this time of year."

Although there a no official strips for the teams, all players will be wearing Santa hats throughout the game!

Since the beginning of the school year, Kirkhill have been developing a business partnership with Petrotechnics, which has included:

  • Pupils attending a Management Meeting and helping to organise and run a MacMillan Coffee Morning at the Petrotechnics offices
  • Petrotechnics staff visiting school during "Inventors Week" to help P4 & P7s design new and useful gadgets

Mr Murray continues: "we are delighted with this partnership and plan to continue throughout the school year with staff regularly visiting the school to pass on their business expertise, working knowledge and - based on Tuesday's results - possibly their football skills."
